How a planned hosted path and self-hosting can support different teams without changing who owns the work.
Some people want a direct path from opening a tool to publishing a site. Others need the builder and output inside infrastructure they already operate. Lacuno’s direction makes room for both without splitting the underlying document model.
A Lacuno-operated builder and hosting service are planned. The intention is to offer a convenient path to begin visually and publish to a free subdomain with a limited page-visit allowance. Exact limits, pricing and availability are not defined in this starter because the service is not implemented yet.
Self-hosting remains a first-class part of the vision. Teams should be able to run the builder and serve their websites themselves, keep their project history and choose the operational setup that fits their constraints.
Convenience and control can reinforce each other when the source stays portable. This sample article is a place to adapt that idea to your own product, community or practice.
