A website is more than a campaign surface. It is an archive, a storefront, a publishing system and often the first place a community meets an idea. The people who make it should be able to understand where it lives and decide what happens to it next.

Lacuno is open source under the AGPL. That commitment keeps the builder inspectable and gives teams a path to run it themselves. The same principle extends to the websites it produces: the source remains ordinary project data rather than a format held behind one service.

Ownership also changes day-to-day work. A visual editor can make composition approachable, while a static compiler can produce a site that is straightforward to serve. Designers, developers and writers can meet around one document without pretending that every discipline works in the same way.
